About Event

On 17th October 2024, the U.S. released new guidelines and proposals for export controls of space-related items. What are the rationale, provisions and expected outcomes of the proposed rules? How do they impact on global space economy and security?

Joining us to discuss these, as well as the broader U.S.-Africa space relations, is Ms. Rose CROSHIER.

Rose CROSHIER is an International Relations Specialist within the U.S. Office of Space Commerce (OSC), covering Africa, South America, India and parts of Europe. She works to improve the policy, regulatory, and business environment for U.S. space commerce and international commercial space cooperation more broadly.

She published the Handbook for Space Capability Development in 2023, and continues her volunteer work to support all countries’ adoption of space-related technology as a non-resident fellow at the Center for Global Development (CGD).

Before joining CGD and the OSC, Ms. Croshier was an accomplished program and operations manager with the U.S. Air Force, specializing in Space Operations, Security Cooperation and Development, Peacekeeping, Disaster Management and Military Intelligence.

Rose completed her Bachelor of Arts degree from Rutgers University in 2000 and her Master of Arts in Diplomacy and International Commerce from Norwich University in 2011.
