Play a Climate or Nature Game
📣 Calling all Wokingham residents!
Climate Festival Special: Come play the Climate Game or the Nature Game
Join us at Wokingham Library on Saturday 14th June from 12:45 to 15:45 for an engaging, collaborative, and genuinely FUN workshop about our changing environment.
We're offering two interactive experiences during Climate Festival - the Climate Game explores the science of climate change, while the Nature Game focuses on biodiversity and ecosystem connections. Both games are equally engaging and suitable for beginners and experts alike.
Why come along?
In a world where environmental information can be confusing, these award-winning games offer a refreshing opportunity to discover the science for yourself. Through collaborative play, you'll uncover how and why our environment is changing and what it means for our community.
Did you know? The first modern climate change experiment was conducted by a woman named Eunice Newton Foote in 1856 — nearly 170 years ago! She discovered that carbon dioxide traps heat, laying the groundwork for our understanding of climate science today.
What to expect:
A warm welcome from your trained facilitators Elizabeth Corse and Rosie Deane
A collaborative experience with 42 beautifully designed cards that you'll arrange to reveal cause-and-effect relationships
The chance to create your very own visual representation of environmental systems
Space to reflect on what you've learned and discuss practical steps forward
Meet like-minded Wokingham residents in a friendly, non-judgmental atmosphere
You don't need any prior knowledge to participate—just bring your curiosity! These games have engaged over 2 million people across 50 countries, from complete beginners to environmental experts.
Why this matters:
Understanding our environment isn't just about facts and figures—it's about connecting with your community and discovering positive ways forward together. In just three hours, you'll gain clarity on complex topics and build confidence in discussing them.
This is a free event but places are limited, so book your spot today to avoid disappointment!
Remember to arrive on time so we can start the workshop with the whole group, and please plan to stay for the full 3 hours for the complete experience.
No prior knowledge needed—just your enthusiasm and willingness to learn something new with your neighbours!
