About the Panelists
Nicole Florack - Nicole is an investor and the head of research at 2150, a venture capital firm investing in technology companies that seek to sustainably reimagine and reshape the urban environment. With significant potential for enabling both mitigation and adaptation in the urban environment, cooling is a key investment area for 2150.
Ankit Kalanki - Ankit is a Principal at RMI, Carbon Free Buildings Program. Currently, he leads RMI’s global cooling initiative focusing on minimizing carbon footprint of cooling sector through transition to super-efficient and affordable cooling technologies and better refrigerant management. He has spent 10 years in the energy sector with diverse experience spanning corporate energy management consulting, conducting research and due diligence for building decarbonization startups, and cooling.
Trevor Wende - Trevor is a strategic advisor for Mojave Energy Systems - a technology company that can radically lower the energy requirments of air conditioning through their proprietary desiccants. Trevor has spent the past 20 years advising companies on their energy efficiency investments
Walter Johnsen (moderator) - Walter is a venture science associate at Marble and has spent the past 6 months leading our thesis development efforts on next-gen cooling. Prior to Marble, Walter received a PhD in Chemistry from the University of Pennsylvania and a BA from Cornell University.
