Wikifunctions - Wikipedia's newest sister project
The Wikimedia Foundation has launched a new project, Wikifunctions, a collaboratively maintained library of functions that anyone can use and contribute to.
Dr Denny Vrandečić will explain the ideas behind the project: coding in any language, how wikifunctions can be used, where the project is now with more than 2000 functions, and where it is headed: the planned usage in Wikipedia and towards a multilingual Wikipedia, where everyone can contribute to the knowledge commons.
Dr Denny Vrandečić is Head of Special Projects at the Wikimedia Foundation. He is the founder of Wikidata and Semantic MediaWiki, was an elected member of the Board of Trustees of the Wikimedia Foundation, and worked previously at Google on the Knowledge Graph. He has a PhD from KIT, Germany, and studied computer science and philosophy at the University of Stuttgart. He was given the Knowledge Graph Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023.
