About Event

Since moving to NYC I've wanted to run the perimeter of Manhattan, what better time than immediately following my 31st birthday. On December 10th I'm running 31 miles around my favorite city, as a celebration of running and the community that surrounds it.

If you'd like to run partial segments, pace on a bike, throw snacks at me, take photos, or just be there for the vibes, you are more than welcome and I very much appreciate your company! (note: I'll be running at a goal pace of 7:00-7:05 per mile, current women's FKT (fastest known time)).

I'm not seeking financial assistance or sponsorship for this effort, but if you feel compelled, I would love it if you consider making a donation to Doctors Without Borders, which you can access directly through this link: https://events.doctorswithoutborders.org/campaign/manhattan-perimeter-fkt-2023

Afterparty: Brickyard Craft Kitchen & Bar, 23 Park Pl @ 1:30PM

Over the past month I've been reflecting on the experience of running my first NYC marathon. I was lucky enough to have a strong and injury-free build, grab a PR, and have a lot of fun along the way. As runners we know how difficult it can be for everything to align perfectly on race day, so while that's worth celebrating, it’s not lost on me how blessed I am to be able to run at all. Competition aside, running is something I do for my own sanity, the hour a day that I have to myself. What a privilege it is to perform this physical movement that provides me with mental peace, when so many others cannot.

I know that no charitable donation will bring hostages home, end hate crimes, or take back innocent lives lost, but I do believe that the running community here in New York is something really special, and when we come together we’re capable of so much more than we ever could be individually.

Doctors Without Borders/Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) cares for people affected by conflict, disease, natural disasters, and exclusion from health care in more than 70 countries. MSF focuses on providing critical healthcare and humanitarian assistance to those who need it most: civilians living in conflict zones, refugees, and those impacted by natural disasters and epidemics. MSF does not take sides in conflict zones, but provides medical care based on greatest need.
