​Meet Gilhean Slater:

​Gilhean is a freelance consultant with over 10 years of experience in EU affairs. She supports organizations with business development, commercial strategy and communications, drawing on a unique blend of policy, political, and commercial expertise. 

​Before starting her freelance journey, Gilhean was Head of Growth, Marketing and Communications at a leading public affairs agency. Prior to this, Gilhean led business development for a political risk firm, worked in commercial, product development and communication roles at media company POLITICO, and held roles within the trade and political teams at the UK Permanent Representation to the EU. 

Gilhean is founder of Wine&Politics Brussels, an informal network bringing together professionals, from across the political spectrum, to debate key issues driving the EU agenda. 

​After years of networking her way around Brussels, London and elsewhere, Gilhean has learned the power of networks, the impactful role they play in helping us succeed, and picked up a trick or two along the way.
