About Event

An evening of art, music, and founder community ✨

Join us for an exclusive edition of The Founder’s Salon—a curated cultural experience designed for founders, creatives, and investors to connect through art and conversation. This edition takes us to The Whitney Museum of American Art for a private guided tour of the “Amy Sherald: American Sublime” exhibition, followed by intimate networking with fellow visionaries.

7:00 – 8:00 PM
Amy Sherald: American Sublime

Amy Sherald is a storyteller. She creates precisely crafted narratives of American life, selecting, styling, and photographing her sitters as the foundation for her nuanced paintings. Thus, while Sherald (b. 1973; Columbus, Georgia) bases her works on specific people, they are more than traditional portraits. They center everyday Black Americans, compelling in their individuality and extraordinary in their ordinariness, inviting viewers to step into Sherald’s imagined worlds. In this exhibition, paintings of such ordinary Americans join her iconic portraits of First Lady Michelle Obama and, heartbreakingly, Breonna Taylor, to produce a resonant ode to the multiplicity and complexity of American identity.

The tour will be led by Scarlett Wang, multimedia artist, designer, and curator. With a BA in Art and Cognitive Science from Pomona College, Scarlett has worked across nonprofit and commercial art spaces internationally—including BANK Gallery, Fulcrum Arts, and Chapman University’s Guggenheim Gallery—and previously led product design at the New York–based startup Theatr. She brings a multidisciplinary and global lens to conversations at the intersection of art, culture, and technology.
