Take Your Kids to Work Day
We hope you and your little one(s) are excited for Thursday!
Here is some information to know before you go:
Registration begins at 9:00 in the Civic Lounge at 4MLK (1st Floor - see directions below). Parent & child programming will take place between 9:30 am - 1:30 pm. Following the fun-filled event, Parents are encouraged to show their child(ren) their workspace and explore the BioPark.
9:00-9:30 - Registration, craft, and light breakfast fare (for kids)*
9:30-9:45 - Decorate Your Lab Coat
9:45-12:15 - Kids will cycle through activities and experiments with a short snack break in the middle
12:15 -1:00 - Lunch (kids and parents)
1:00 - 1:30 - Make Ice Cream in a Bag
1:30 - programming ends - we will have an office scavenger hunt for kids to help pass the time in their parent's office.
Activities include:
- slime
- ice cream-making
- fun with Glo Germ
- design a cell-fie
- chromotography
- decorate your own lab coat
- build a DNA helix out of gummy bears
and more....
*parents - the Travelin' Tom's coffee truck will be in the BioPark outside of 4MLK on Thursday morning from 8:30-10:30. We recommend stopping by the truck and purchasing a beverage to power you through the day!
What to wear - Kids will be wearing lab coats throughout the day, but there is a still a chance they could get goos or glues on their clothes. We'll be moving around throughout the day so we recommend comfy shoes.

This event is free and open to all BioPark tenants and UMB staff with elementary through middle school-aged children. Pre-registration is required no later than Friday, April 18 and space is limited.
