About Event

Join Women and Climate's Seattle Chapter as we get a guided tour of the Georgetown Wet Weather Treatment Station! This new station, developed to accommodate excess rainfall as a result of climate change, can treat up to 70 million gallons of combined rain and wastewater a day that would otherwise discharge directly to the Duwamish River during heavy storms. During the tour, we'll hear about how the facility reduces pollution and improves the overall water quality of the Duwamish River. You can learn more about the facility beforehand here!

Schedule:

  • 3:20 pm: Arrive to ensure timely tour start

  • 3:30 pm: Tour starts

  • 5:00 pm: Tour ends

  • 5:30 pm: Regroup for a post-tour Happy Hour discussion and/or networking. Location: Star Brass Works - 5813 Airport Way S, Seattle, WA 98108

While our community focuses on creating space to empower women and non-binary folks, this event is open to all. This event is "For Women and Allies", so we welcome partners or friends of any gender identity.

*If you are bringing a guest, please ask them to register as well, as the venue is limited in capacity.

Transportation

The facility is located on the northwest corner of S Michigan St and 4th Ave S, at 6185 4th Ave S, Seattle. The entrance is right there on the corner at NW S Michigan St and 4th Ave S.
