Plants for Women's Health with Dr. Andrew Weil
You’re Invited to A Conversation with Dr. Andrew Weil Exploring Plants for Women’s Health
Women are increasingly seeking alternatives to Menopause Hormone Therapy (MHT), which you may know as HRT. Many are turning to botanical solutions. But despite a surge in consumer interest, there is a critical gap.
We lack the rigorous research, clinical data, and funding necessary to support the safe and effective use of whole plants for women’s health. If you've ever looked for rigorous and reliable information about the use of whole plants for women's health, you know it's challenging to separate fact from fiction, and solution from sales pitch.
We want to change that. It's time to take women's health seriously.
For centuries, women around the world have turned to whole plants for healing, nourishment, and hormonal balance. These time-honored remedies hold immense promise for women’s health today. And yet, they remain largely overlooked, unstudied, and underfunded by conventional medicine.
At a time of renewed interest and urgent need, we have a powerful opportunity to bridge ancient wisdom with modern science.
This fall, Beneficial Plant Research Association (BPRA) - a nonprofit founded by Dr. Andrew Weil in 1979 - is taking an important step towards that goal by launching an initial survey of women's use of botanical medicine. Not only will this survey help our researchers and clinicians identify patterns in women's use of botanicals, its results will also point BPRA towards the plants that are the strongest candidates for further study and clinical trials.
To build support and momentum for this exciting initiative, on September 9th, Dr. Weil will speak on the historical, cultural, and scientific significance of plant-based medicine for women’s health. He'll also share about the urgent need to invest in and fund research that honors traditional knowledge and modern science.
Hosted by the BPRA, this conversation will offer insight, connection, and an invitation for you to support the future of integrative women’s health. Dr. Weil will finish his talk with a Q+A.
