About Event

Learning Objectives

  • Understand the full workflow of proposal writing—from prep to submission.
(Not just what goes in a proposal, but how to gather, coordinate, and get it done—without losing your mind (or your team).)

  • Learn how to tailor proposals to different funders through simple research steps.
(From funder research tips to writing tone, we’ll cover how to stop sounding generic and start sounding like a great fit.)

  • Write stories that feel honest, compelling, and respectful—not exploitative.
(You’ll learn how to balance dignity and urgency in storytelling, and how to avoid the usual proposal clichés.)

  • Navigate tech and admin mess like deadlines, portals, and version control.
(Deadlines, portals, budgets, version control… we’ll share tricks to keep calm and submit on time.)

Key takeaways

Delve into the practicalities of proposal writing:

  • Getting content from teams that ‘don’t have time’

  • Writing without sounding like a thousand other teams

  • Avoiding last-minute madness, or tech disasters

  • And actually making funders want to keep reading.

You'll leave with a:

  • Funder customizable database building template

  • Proposal submission planning calendar

  • Proposal Input Template for teams contributing to a grant proposal
