About the Day
Join us for a heartfelt memorial hike along the stunning White Cliffs of Dover in loving memory of Cynthia Demuren, marking the 5th anniversary of her passing from breast cancer.
We’ll walk together to celebrate Cynthia’s life, her strength, and her love for community. The hike will also support The Leanne Pero Foundation, a charity that provides vital assistance to Black women affected by cancer.
Please wear comfortable walking shoes, warm layers and a light jacket. We would recommend a refillable water bottle for the hike and poles only if necessary.
Everyone is welcome. You can bring a neighbour, a colleague, a partner or a furry friend — we just ask that everyone RSVP's individually so we have exact numbers.
Promoting Health, Movement & Community Support
Cynthia was an avid gym-goer who believed in the power of staying active — not just for physical health, but for mental wellbeing and connection with others. In her memory, we want to carry that spirit forward. One of our favourite memories with her was attending Zumba classes and breaking a sweat after school.
This hike is more than a walk — it’s a celebration of movement, health, and togetherness. The trail we’ll take is beginner-friendly while still offering stunning views to inspire more experienced walkers. It’s a chance to enjoy fresh air, get our bodies moving, and feel supported every step of the way.
We’ll lean on each other for encouragement, share the journey side-by-side, and remind ourselves that movement is one of the simplest yet most powerful ways to nurture our health and combat disease. Whether you’re a regular hiker, an occasional walker, or just starting out — you are welcome here.
Let’s follow in Cynthia’s footsteps by making movement a priority, supporting one another, and showing that we are stronger — physically, mentally, and emotionally — when we walk together.
