Jason Chew is a highly regarded expert on Bitcoin and open blockchain technologies. Renowned for his ability to demystify complex topics, he adeptly discusses the potential benefits and drawbacks of these technologies for societies around the world. As an educator, his goal is to inform a broad audience about the historical, technological, and socio-economic implications of Bitcoin and open blockchain technologies.
Jason has played a significant role in promoting blockchain education in Malaysia. He grew the country's largest crypto community, BitcoinMalaysia, from 30,000 to 150,000 members. He has delivered 500 talks to over 100,000 individuals. In 2018, he was a member of the United Nations Blockchain for Sustainable Development Working Group, established in Geneva, Switzerland. He was also the first to introduce DeFi education to Southeast Asia by organizing Southeast Asia DeFi Week 2021, featuring founders such as Robert Leshner (Compound), Stani Kulechov (Aave), Michael Egrove (Curve), and Kain Warwick (Synthetix).
