Building Connections: Climate Networking with a Twist (LCAW)
Time to move beyond traditional networking.
Unlike conventional events with predetermined agendas, this open space format empowers you to shape the conversation around what you think matters most right now in climate leadership ... with LEGO.
Through facilitated conversations and LEGO® Serious Play® methodology, we'll create a vibrant marketplace of ideas, connections, and possibilities.
Nobody knows what will happen – including us!
How it works:
This event follows Open Space Technology principles, where:
You set the agenda - Attendees propose topics they're passionate about. You will be asked for things you’d like to explore when you register, and you’ll be able to add further thoughts on the day.
Self-organization guides the flow - Join the conversations that matter to you
LEGO® Serious Play® deepens engagement - Build and share your ideas literally and figuratively
Emergent insights become actionable - Document breakthrough ideas for follow-up
Why this format?
We believe that traditional networking often misses the mark on what attendees really need, and can sometimes feel artificial.
Instead, this playful unconference approach:
Surfaces the most pressing and timely topics
Allows for genuine peer-to-peer learning
Creates space for unexpected connections and collaborations
Taps collective intelligence to tackle complex challenges
Uses hands-on methods that spark creative thinking
What kinds of questions might shape the event?
Rather than just asking each other ‘what do you do?’, we’ll consider the most challenging and interesting questions around sustainability that are playing on your mind these days.
But instead of just talking about your questions, we'll build our answers with LEGO ... and then discuss.
E.g.,
If I had a billion Euros to spend on sustainability, how would I spend it?
What's the biggest distraction to the climate community in 2025?
What balance should there be on mitigation and adaptation initiatives?
Is momentum or perfection more important in climate progress?
It's all shaped by you.

Your facilitators:
We’re Megan Fraser (Future Led) and Lucy Hawthorne (Climate Play). We’re good friends, but we also bring complementary expertise in climate leadership development and innovative facilitation methods.
At Future Led, Megan is the architect of Leadership for Climate Pioneers®, where she helps climate executives and leaders to evolve their leadership, scale impact, and build a legacy they’re proud of.
At Climate Play, Lucy uses play-learning approaches to shake up and energise how we think, talk and act on complex issues, and she runs the world's only LEGO Serious Play training specifically focused on sustainability.
This event is part of a series of events during LCAW hosted by Climate Play and friends, exploring how the innovative method, LEGO® Serious Play®, can help stretch our imaginations and bring new ideas and reflections into the light.
