Planetary Boundaries Fresco
WHAT ARE THE PLANETARY BOUNDARIES?
The planetary boundaries were first presented by scientists at leading institutes including the Stockholm Resilience Centre and the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research. The 9 planetary boundaries are the interconnected Earth systems that define the safe operating space for humanity. Crossing these boundaries increases the risk of destabilizing critical life support systems.
WHAT IS A PLANETARY BOUNDARIES FRESCO?
Inspired by the Climate Fresk, the Planetary Boundaries Fresco is an interactive card-based workshop. It explores the interconnections between different environmental systems using a systems-thinking approach. After completing the workshop, you should be able to apply systems thinking to sustainability problems and solutions.
HOW DOES IT WORK?
You will work with other participants to arrange cards representing the 9 planetary boundaries and the causes and consequences of crossing them. The workshop is science-based, led by trained facilitators, and encourages collaborative learning and discussion.
IS THIS THE RIGHT WORKSHOP FOR ME?
Planetary Boundaries Frescos are suitable for those who want to learn about (or deepen their knowledge of) the integrated Earth systems that make our planet habitable. If you have participated in a Climate Fresk workshop, this is an excellent way to expand your knowledge of climate change as it relates to other critical Earth systems.
We offer public workshops at low, or no, cost to ensure access to quality climate education. All are welcome in our public workshops, however if 4 or more from the same workplace wish to participate together, we ask that you contact us at hello@igc.earth to discuss pricing for dedicated company workshops.
This in-person workshop is being offered by IGC - In Good Company. Learn more about IGC and 1er degré.
