Career Connect Event Schedule:

2:00 - 3:00 PM: Arrivals, Career Stands & Networking

  • Registration and career stalls featuring company representatives sharing insights on upcoming job opportunities and career development.

3:00 - 4:00 PM: Panel Discussion: Career Talk & Company Insights (Recorded for online viewing)

  • A panel discussion hosted by Alicia with representatives from top companies, offering valuable career advice and sharing industry insights.

4:00 - 5:00 PM: Breakout Sessions

  • Smaller group discussions with employers, providing a chance to ask candid questions and gain deeper insights into career paths and opportunities.


About the Event
Create Connect has partnered with Ravensbourne University to support final-year students from multicultural backgrounds in accelerating their careers post-graduation.

Government and university data highlight disparities in post-graduation outcomes, such as:

  • Black ‘other’ ethnic group graduates earn the lowest average salary one year after graduating (£19,400).

  • Black Caribbean graduates follow with average earnings of £19,800 one year post-graduation.

  • Pakistani graduates have the lowest earnings five years (£24,900) and ten years (£25,600) after graduating.

  • 89.4% of white graduates are in sustained employment or further study one year after graduation, the highest percentage across all groups.
