About Your Host
Hi! I’m L’Oreal Thompson Payton — a journalist, author, yoga teacher, and founder of The Writing Well, a nurturing coaching space for writers who are ready to reconnect with their creativity and honor their stories. I’m also the author of Stop Waiting for Perfect and the voice behind the LT in the City Weekly newsletter and the Werking Moms Club podcast.
I created these sessions because I know how easy it is to put your writing on the back burner — especially when you’re juggling a million other things. The Writing Well is here to remind you that your words matter. And so do you.
FAQs
Do I need to work on a specific project to attend?
Not at all! Bring whatever you’re working on — or just bring yourself. Journaling, brainstorming, drafting, editing — it all counts.
Will I have to talk or share out loud?
Nope! Sharing is always optional. Some folks leave their cameras on, some don’t — this is your time, your space, your pace.
How long is the session?
Each session lasts about 60–75 minutes, depending on the vibe. We keep things flexible and low-stress.
Is this just for professional writers?
Absolutely not. This is for anyone who wants to write — whether that’s a book, a blog post, or just a few words that have been sitting in your spirit. All are welcome.
How much does it cost?
These are pay-what-you-can sessions with a suggested range of $5–$10 to help support the space and sustain the work. No one is turned away for lack of funds.
