About the Canoe-Building Workshop
It all began four years ago when Gong Hao borrowed a canoe from Zhang Tengzhong, saying he wanted to paddle it downstream to Shanghai—and even invited us to come along. But four years passed, and the trip never happened. The boat broke before the dream could be realized. Now, Gong Hao owes him a new canoe.
So here we are: with Zhang Tengzhong, the boat’s original owner, leading us, we're building a brand-new canoe by hand, repairing the old one, and opening up the entire process to the public as a hands-on workshop—an open-ended, drop-in space for making, learning, and gathering, as well as a series of DIY parties.
Over the past few years, our loose sense of purpose, slow-paced indulgence, and unstable lives have let things ferment over time. And somehow, this boat—along with many friendships—has stayed with us. Now, in this riverine city of Wuhan, we’re ready to make some noise.
We’ll build the new canoe and repair the old one using a North American Indigenous-style canoe design and construction techniques. It’s fully DIY: from steaming the wood, bending and assembling the strips, to waterproof coating and final decoration. All materials and technical support come from PARTYFRIENDSHIP (PFS) and Hu Pengcheng. The canoe workshop will run for 20 days and is open to anyone interested—drop in and join us anytime.
Once the boat is ready, three of us—Gong Hao, Zijie, and Yuan Ziyuan—plan to paddle from Wuhan all the way down the Yangtze River to Shanghai.

About the Crowdfunding
To cover material costs and help balance the labor we’re putting in, we’re hoping to raise at least 20,000 RMB (2800 USD). You’re warmly invited to join the workshop—whether it’s for the full process, just a segment, or simply as a visitor or observer.
For those based in Wuhan and able to attend in person, we offer different tiers of participation rewards—from guided visits to becoming a co-owner of the boat—depending on the level of donation.

路上行舟（2022.2）（45分钟）：我们过年的时候把这船从武昌运到汉口，抬着船在街道上走了一大圈。很多留在武汉过年的年轻人参加了这次上街过年；其中一位朋友这样写道：“行驶在人流汹涌的江汉路上，航道里的行人像一样的浪花被我们用船拨开，向两侧分去，而他们的目光变成了水珠落在了船和我们的身上。越往中心走，浪花越密集，溅到身上和船上的水珠也就越来越多。……我感受着江汉路，感受着浪花与周遭的一切，……我们在过自己的年……”
武汉过年七天乐视频序列（2023.1）（30分钟）：次年春节前后，我们为了延续之前的游春行动，在城里不断寻找合适的地方可以放音乐、露营、烧火和开趴，每天尝试一个地点做demo party，最终在江边办起一个大趴。趴体由龚豪发起的“兔兔过江”开始：独木舟载着两位属兔的朋友横跨长江，到达汉江和长江交汇处（南岸嘴），“此地会是我们在这个城市里放牧路线的其中一个营地，songline上的一点。”之后武汉各种年轻人也陆续在不同的公共空间如废墟、桥洞办起各种野趴；
以及严诚导演剪辑的默片FATANSIA （25分钟）。
关于造船工作坊：
起因是龚豪在四年前跟张腾中借了艘Canoe独木舟，说要划船到下游上海去，并邀请我们同行。话讲出来四年，事情没搞成船先玩坏了，现在龚豪要赔人家一艘新船。船主人张腾中会带我们一起自己动手做这艘新船，修缮旧船，并向所有人开放整个制作的过程，一个可以随时参与的工作坊手把手，也是一系列DIY的派对面对面。
过去几年里，不坚定的（无？）目的感，和拖沓享乐的日复日和、不稳定的生活，刚好让事情在时间韧度里发酵，让我们持续地和船、和许多朋友有更多的相处，在武汉这个与水相关联的城市里闹些动静响声。
造新船，修旧船，采用北美印第安风格的CANOE船型和对应的制作技术，完全自己动手，从蒸煮木料到木条的弯折拼合，到涂布防水和最终装饰……技术和材料会得到“派对朋友的飞船”（PFS）和胡鹏程的支持和帮助。整个CANOE（独木舟）工作坊持续20天，期间面对感兴趣的朋友们开放。
船收拾好之后，我们其中的三人（龚豪、子杰、园子园）计划划船从武汉沿江而下，到上海去。
