Art, Craft and Architecture – Methods of Bridging the Poetic and Pragmatic at Design Week Calgary

​The event is to host a discussion between individuals with varied experience and perspectives, but share a commonality - their passion to bring complex ideas to life. In their work, they speak through the shaping of form, material; from the conceptual realm into reality.

​The guests will touch on their definition of art-integrated architecture and the purpose of craft in the public realm. The conversation will shift focus to the intricacies of methodology; focusing on how shared values and the principles can carry forward ideas, scaling them into physical forms. The goal is to uncover moments within the project delivery that change the trajectory of convention and positively impact the outcome. We’ll wrap up by fantasizing how recent innovations may shape how art and craft inform our built environments.
