About Event

Have you ever wondered what happens to the items you put in the blue, green, or landfill bins in San Francisco? Join a Recology Public Tour to become an expert on how waste in SF is handled and sorted. (They use fancy robots, which I'm hoping we'll get to see.)

A few things we will see are:

Initial processing of curbside bin material and special recycling programs.
The blue bin sorting process in Recycle Central at Pier 96.
Studios and in-progress work of current artists-in-residence.

Full tour details are available here. You need to sign up with Recology directly using the Eventbrite. This Luma event is primarily to facilitate carpooling and making it a group outing.

Speaking of carpooling, spots are limited. Please sign up for a ride here. If you have a car, we'd appreciate more drivers!

The plan right now is to meet up at the Commons at 8:45 and depart by 9:00 or so to make it to the Recology facility by their 9:30 start time.
