About Event
Poetry often gets put in a narrow box—we’re told it needs to have a rhyme scheme, include meter, or adhere to strict formal requirements. While this can be true, poetry is much broader than people often give it credit for, and even someone who may not think they have experience writing poetry can still contribute to this art form!
Join Brooks H. in his poetry workshop “The Shapes of Poetry,” where he will break down what he thinks can be considered “a poem.” Through a series of generative exercises and approaches to revision, participants will be able to leave the workshop with THREE COMPLETED POEMS they can submit to The Orange Couch!
Note: this is a hybrid event that you can attend either on Zoom or in-person in Levan 403 (LPC).
