Digital Democracy in Poland

​Dr Katarzyna Anna Klimowicz will tell us about her work as Chief Policy Expert at the Ministry of Digital Affairs of Poland (Social Dialogue and Analysis Unit, Department of Projects and Strategy), where she is responsible for developing Participation and Transparency Policy.

​Dr Klimowicz has been combining academic research with activism and civil society work for many years, and is passionate about democratic innovation and new forms of civic participation using digital tools based on participatory and deliberative democracy models.

​Dr Klimowicz is a Humanity in Action Senior Fellow (Warsaw Program 2013). Previously she led the Best Practices in Exporting Expertise to Counter Disinformation project (under contract with the Warsaw-based TechSoup Foundation) as well as the European Democracy Network and Democratic Innovations in Youth Work projects (under contract with Citizens For Europe gUG, based in Berlin). She was also a Democracy Lab Visiting Fellow at Das Progressive Zentrum, a think tank in Berlin, where she promoted the authored model of network parties.
