Talk No.1: Scout's Honor: Making Laravel Search at Blazingly Fast Speeds with Typesense
Discover how to give your users the trail-blazing search experience they expect with Typesense and Laravel Scout. In this session, we'll walk through an integration, examining the code that powers instant search through Laravel Scout, typo tolerance, and advanced filtering. We'll demonstrate how easy it is to integrate your existing Laravel application with Typesense, through Scout's Searchable trait. Bring your questions as we explore how just a few lines of code can transform your Laravel app's search capabilities from basic to brilliant. You'll leave without ever needing to think about search again.
Fanis Tharropoulos is an Electrical and Computer Engineer graduate from Aristotle University. He researched AI code assistants like GitHub Copilot for his master's thesis, building ML tools in Python and TypeScript. Currently he's a Software Engineer at Typesense, maintaining their open-source search engine's language clients and helping the community. He's also co-developing Kyma (github.com/museslabs/kyma), a Go-based TUI presentation tool with animations.
Talk No. 2: Behind the scenes of Laravel Cloud: building and scaling a global developer platform
Florian Beer is an Infrastructure Engineer at Laravel Cloud, where he helps shape the platform that empowers developers to seamlessly deploy and scale Laravel applications. With a strong foundation as a longtime Laravel application developer, Florian has expertise in both code and infrastructure. His career bridges the gap between application development and cloud architecture.
