Welcome to the AI in Production Meetup: RAG Edition by GetYourGuide 🚀

Curious about the practical implications of AI in the tech industry? Join us to learn how companies across the globe—and we at GetYourGuide—use AI in Production.

Our second edition is all about Retrieval Augmented Generation (RAG), a framework to improve the quality of LLM by providing external knowledge.

This meetup is relevant to ML and AI practitioners, but we invite anyone passionate about AI and ML to join us at our office in Prenzlauer Berg. You can expect great talks, pizza, drinks, and networking with people building with AI in Berlin.

Talk # 1: RAG and Slackbots Experiments Unveiled

By Mathieu Bastian, Director of Engineering - Data Products at GetYourGuide.

As a dynamic and fast-growing company, knowledge can be hard to find or siloed into different systems. For instance, we often hear from new-joiners that the amount of documents to read and ingest is overwhelming. So, the problem we’re trying to solve is finding relevant company-wide knowledge and making it accessible to our staff.

To address this problem, we’ve experimented with langchain and its capability to perform RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation). In this talk we will share our learnings with using Slackbots and RAG for retrieving information, in particular:

  • What are the advantages of implementing Slackbots? How do they operate in real-world scenarios?

  • Strategies for organising the knowledge base efficiently

  • Techniques for enhancing relevance in retrieval knowledge

  • What has been the response to and integration of this system within the teams?

Our vision is ultimately that AI can even perform tasks on behalf of our staff, but for now we’ve focused on accessing and finding information.

Talk # 2: Learnings from six months of deployed RAG in production

By Jonas Beisswenger, Co-Founder, and Karl Richter, CTO, of Langdock - the AI platform for team productivity.

Langdock is a one-stop AI platform for scale-ups and enterprises that is model agnostic and fully GDPR compliant. It empowers your employees with LLMs while you retain full control over your data. Chat with your internal knowledge, automate entire workflows and create customised assistants.

At Langdock, we have iteratively been figuring out how to build a RAG system that scales and works reliable in production. In the talk, we’ll share learnings from our journey and explain the decisions we’ve made and the trade-offs we’ve faced.

Lightning Talks

  • Talk #3: Using an LLM Agent to talk with the Berlin Parliament - Stephen Batifol

    • Lot of things are happening in the Berlin Parliament and you might not be aware of it. By using LLMs and a Vector Database, I'll show you how you can chat and interact with the data of the Berlin Parliament.
