​Createch Meet-Up

​Talks from Zelia ZZ Tan and Temple of Kulture

​This month, we’re excited to welcome two ground-breaking guest artists whose practices explore the fusion of movement and XR technology in powerful and innovative ways.

​XR (Extended Reality) blends real and virtual worlds using AR, VR, and beyond.

​Zelia ZZ Tan is a choreographer, performer and designer working internationally across dance and technology. Their dynamic practice spans motion capture, avatars, AR and wearable sensors; blending choreography with cutting-edge design to explore how bodies move and transform in digital space. Zelia’s work interrogates what a body can be in the digital age, and we’re thrilled to welcome them to createch.

​Temple Of Kulture is a UK-based collective working at the intersection of XR, street dance and immersive storytelling. Their work celebrates lived experience, memory and culture through a community-first approach to digital performance and workshop-making. Using tech as a tool for connection and empowerment, their practice explores how movement becomes a form of resistance and collective storytelling.

​After the talks, stay for a relaxed creative networking session, a chance to meet fellow artists, technologists, dancers, and curious minds, and share ideas across disciplines.

​​Join us for this 2-hour Createch meet up at Playopolis in Rochester, Medway for local artists and educators!

• ​​Meet up, network and share skills with other members of Hack.

• ​​Each meet up will contain guest artist skill-shares (check the listing nearer the time), plus time to simply play with creative tech and learn together.

• ​​These are hosted free by Electric Medway.

• ​​Drinks and snacks are available to purchase at Playopolis.

• ​​We'll bring VR headsets, iPads and other kit. We encourage you to bring your own also!

• ​​If you're not already a member, it's free to sign up here. Membership is open to all aged 18+ who live learn or work in Medway and surrounding areas.

​Createch meet ups are part of Hack, our regular sector learning programme designed to help local artists and educators upskill in creative technology and embed it in their work practice.

Launched in 2023, and with a growing membership of over 75 individuals, Hack members are able to access Createch meet ups, Power hour skill webinars, Industry masterclasses and Artist commissions.

​We have previously held sessions led by UK leaders in the XR and creative tech sector, including DARKFIELD, Sarah Ticho, John Whall, BRiGHTBLACK, Frazer Merrick, Livi Wilmore, Cybersaur Arts, Hey Green Raven and more!

​In 2024 we received partner support from Docking Station (University of Kent iCCi), A+E Lab, Hulked Project and Dovetail Games.
