About Event

The Hardware Meetup community is excited to announce the 99th New York Hardware Meetup at Breakfast for NY Tech Week! Thank you to our sponsor Indiegogo for helping make this evening possible.

Hardware Meetups happen across 30+ cities around the world, bringing together hardware professionals to network and learn from each other. This month, we're talking about all things neurotech, neural interfaces, and controlling technology with your mind. You might not realize it, but NYC is a hotbed for this kind of innovation and tonight you'll meet two companies working at the cutting edge of this technology.

We have a great group of guest speakers

  • Darragh McDermott is the Director of Neural Interfaces and Mechanical Systems at Synchron, with 16 years of experience in R&D engineering. He specializes in designing advanced medical devices, including Brain-Computer Interfaces, neuromodulation systems, and drug-eluting products. At Synchron, he leads teams on complex projects, ensuring timely delivery in high-pressure environments. Synchron is at the forefront of implantable neural interface technology, developing minimally invasive neuroprostheses for paralysis treatment.

  • AJ Keller is the CEO and co-founder of Neurosity, a pioneering company in the realm of neurotechnology. AJ will introduce Neurosity’s latest innovation, a pocket-sized device designed to revolutionize the way we interact with our brain activity. Alongside this, AJ will discuss the foundational model that underpins their cutting-edge technology, offering insights into the future of personal neurotech. With a background in both neuroscience and computer engineering, AJ has led Neurosity to achieve significant milestones, setting the stage for the next wave of neurotech advancements.
