Sex Workers Forum
📣 Saturday, June 21st – Join Us for an important discussion at Our Sex Workers' Forum!
By Sex Workers, For Sex Workers | Last Saturday of Pride
What to expect:
A conversation and panel discussion by current and former sex workers on the need to uplift and include sex workers in revolutionary struggle - against capitalism, rape culture and the sex trade
History and Resistance: Join as we explore how the sex trade developed alongside capitalism-imperialism, and the vital role that sex workers, especially those of marginalized experience, have played in liberation and resistance movements. And can be proclaimed as the world’s first feminists.
Decriminalization: What does decriminalization mean, and what doesn’t it? What is the class distinctions between different sex workers and victims of sex trafficking. What will it take to get rid of pimps, capitalists, and class enemies who profit off of the violence pushed onto sex workers?
How does isolation and stigmatization put sex workers at greater risk of violence? How can we push our communities to protect sex workers without relying on the very systems we know do not serve the people? What does it look like to develop a militant movement against fascism and the systems that enable it—white supremacy, misogynoir, and patriarchy?
Know your rights panel: A know your rights panel facilitated by Sex worker led organizations.
The forum will close with a Q&A/open discussion.
