• ​Why things like self-generated IDs, signed data, private encryption, and self-hosting actually matter (no, it’s not just geek flexing)

• ​How Bitcoin and Nostr nailed it — and where popular apps like Signal, Proton Drive, BitTorrent, and Reticulum land on the freedom scale

• ​What “freedom tech” really means (hint: it’s not just "open-source" or "decentralized")

​We’ll walk through a simple framework you can use to analyze any tech and show why good intentions aren’t enough if the design itself doesn't protect your rights.

​Expect a chill 30-40 minute walkthrough with slides (no heavy lifting needed) + 30 minutes of Q&A where you can ask, debate, or just nerd out.

​You don’t need to be a dev or know cryptography to join — we’ll explain concepts like digital signatures, hashes, and public/private keys in a way that anyone can follow.
(If you know what a signature or a lock is, you’re good.)
