Fuzz to Felt: Symbols
In this edition of Fuzz to Felt, we’re making fuzzy amulets!
Learn how wool turns to felt, what wool looks like during each part of its life-cycle, and what we can do with it by needle felting. We’ll look at what artists around the world are doing with felt using different felting techniques. From there we’ll collaboratively design symbols to keep us safe from evil energies using an dictionary of symbols that have been used throughout history for this very reason. We’ll then dive right into a demo on how to needle felt, build volume, and attach felted pieces together to create layers, texture, and personality. We’ll walk you through the process and answer questions as everyone’s project will be unique and you’ll leave with a needle felted amulet with powerful energy that’s straight from your imagination.
Arrive at our workshop ready to learn amongst a community of students. Whether you’ve needle felted before or are a complete beginner, let’s play with an artform that has endless possibilities!

All workshops are beginner-friendly and designed to spark creativity and connection, perfect solo or with friends!

Your ticket includes access to our Open Hours, to use our space for the day of the event, so you're welcome to come a bit early and linger later, if you'd like. If you've never been to Open Hours at Drawing Room, it includes unlimited loose-leaf tea, coffee, wifi, and access to our games/book library. We also offer our Art Library for an additional cost. Please show the front desk host this ticket to grant you entry.

IMPORTANT NOTES: All tickets are final sale. We are a shoes-off, socks-required space; please bring your own socks or we have some for purchase for $1. Our events are geared towards connection through creativity; for many, you will be sitting around shared tables. Unfortunately, all ticketed events and workshops are 16+ at this time. Anyone 16-18 years of age must be accompanied by an adult. Dogs are also not permitted at events. Upon entering our space you are consenting to photography/videography that may be used for promotional purposes.
