Darning is a simple mending technique used to repair holes in fabric by weaving new threads into the worn area, making your clothes, blankets, or accessories last longer!
Join our workshop to learn how to stitch up your favorite socks, sweaters, and more!
Light food & refreshments provided. FABSCRAP’s shop will be open until 6:30, so come a little early to shop too!
BRING YOUR OWN TO-BE-MENDED or PRACTICE WITH FABSCRAP MENDABLES!
Attendees will:
Practice basic skills with guidance to repair holes.
>>>Skills that the workshop will cover include, but are not limited to, the running stitch, needle threading techniques, designing, and weaving.
Gain a better understanding of the importance of mending for system change.
>>> From analyzing history, exploring techniques, understanding its matriarchal lineage, and more, we aim to support our community members to shape and trust their own choices for a collective positive change.

6:00 ~ 6:30: Check-in + Introduction of topic, instructor, and group

7:15 - 7:30 - Individual practice & 1:1 instruction
7:30 - 7:45 - Show & Tell ○ 7:45 - 8:00 - Clean up & Leave
