Holidays Off The Cushion: with Cari Jacobs

Come explore ways to take the power of your practice into the most challenging arenas and times.

In this three part course, we will focus on 1) somatic awareness as a gateway to finding more peace and ease during the holidays 2) right speech and how it manifests when we disagree- from “inner mission” to “intermission” and healthy communications 3) practicing deep gratitude but particularly when we are in question of life’s purpose.

3 Thursdays, December 2, 16, and 23. Drop-ins welcome!

Cari Jacobs rose up through the ranks of the corporate and startup world as a marketing leader and, eventually, a Chief Marketing Officer. While her professional career soared, Cari found she was less and less content – less fulfilled – she yearned for more happiness, contentment and ease. She began to bridge her fast track career with a more personal endeavor - personal growth and self-awareness. She began an active study of Buddhist-based meditation, and by 2005, Cari was teaching at Spirit Rock in the Family Program and coaching in Meditation. She went on to earn multiple certifications in mindfulness and meditation from Google’s Search Inside Yourself and U.C. Berkeley’s Greater Good & Science, all while maintaining executive roles and continuing her career as a marketing leader.

But in 2020, the Covid pandemic hit which prompted Cari to re-evaluate how she wanted to use her talents and passions. She left her corporate role and launched a new career as a full-time coach, author and meditation teacher, earning her most recent certificate from the U.C. Berkeley Executive Coaching Institute, a program created and facilitated by the Haas School of Business. Cari was recently accepted into a facilitator teaching program at Stanford University where she will continue to combine her expertise in business with her goal of awakening the corporate world.

Cari has studied intimately with some of the greatest teachers in the Western world including Adyashanti, Trudy Goodman, Jack Kornfield, Tara Brach and is currently being mentored by Eugene Cash. Her classes are refreshingly down to earth, deeply introspective and fiercely bold.
