About the workshop
Every day for the last 10 years, Emma Charleston has done a drawing about her day. Initially used to hone her skills as an illustrator and graphic designer, her visual diaries have become a useful tool for reflection on both her professional and personal life.
In this hands-on workshop, Emma will talk about her practice and share examples before leading a series of analogue drawing exercises to help you kick-start your own visual diary practice.
During the workshop, you will:
Discover how Emma and other artists approach their visual diaries
Learn how the practice can be used for professional skill development, such as data visualisation, typography and visual communication
Explore using visual diary entries as a way to reflect and spot patterns in work, relationships, friendships and more
Work through a series of prompts to create your own visual diary for the previous week
Learn how to express yourself in drawing by combining different materials
This workshop is open to all and all materials will be supplied.
