Jasper Ridge Trip - First Year PhD Community Program
Get to know Jasper Ridge with your fellow first year PhD students!
Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve is in the eastern foothills of the Santa Cruz Mountains, about five miles southwest of the main campus. The preserve encompasses remarkable geologic, topographic, and biotic diversity within its 1,193 acres and provides a natural laboratory for researchers from all over the world and refuge to native plants and animals.
Rain or shine, we will gather outside of Mitchell Earth Sciences at 9 am. We will return to campus at 11:30 am.
We will take an hour long walk through Jasper Ridge Biological Preserve. We will have sandwiches at the picnic area and then return to campus.
Remember to wear hiking clothing/shoes (closed toed shoes are required)/hat and bring sunscreen and a water bottle!
We can take 20 students. After 20 students, we will have a waitlist. Please do not sign up if you are not certain you are able to attend this event!
