Sunway Debate Open (External)

​Welcome back to the 2024 in-person edition of Sunway Debate Open, now with an exciting twist: double divisions! The Open and Novice divisions will run at the same time— Novice teams will only meet other Novice teams during the in-rounds, and likewise for Open teams!

​You are a novice if you fulfill all of the following criteria: (1) Have less than 1 year of university debating experience, (2) Never attended an international major as a speaker (WUDC, ABP, UADC, Australs, NEADC); (3) never broken as a speaker in your country's varsity Nationals (e.g., MNUDC or MNIDC in Malaysia), and (4) have less than 5 open breaks.

Format: British Parliamentary (N=0)
Divisions: Open, Novice
Limit: 80 Teams

Note: All teams are asked to make payment upon registration and upload the receipt to the registration form; teams who need an invoice for institutional purposes or to understand the fee breakdown better may still request it through the registration form.
