About Event

Ready to discover how the world's largest Mozzarella producer is leading the way in energy conservation and committed to achieving carbon neutrality by 2050?

Join us for an inspiring event and hear from David Merriam from Leprino Foods to speak on specific energy conservation projects(Heat Pump project, Cow Water reuse project) at Tracy facility and their new global responsibility vision to be the World’s Best Dairy Food and Ingredient Company. Leprino Foods is a family-owned Cheese company, specializing in Mozzarella & Whey Nutrition products. They were originally founded in 1950 by Jim Leprino in his small family grocery store in Denver, CO and have grown to be the largest Mozzarella company in the world. They produce over 2 billon lbs. of Mozzarella and half a billion lbs. of Whey Nutrition products annually.  The Tracy facility was originally built in 1973, and Leprino started operations at the plant in 1978. The Tracy plant produces over 500k lbs. of Mozzarella and 100k lbs. of Lactose Powder daily.

About the Speaker:

David Merriam is a Plant Manager for Leprino Foods at the Tracy facility.  He had been with the company for over 15 years, mostly in Plant Manager roles and have been at the Tracy Plant for a year now, having relocated here last spring from our Fort Morgan, Colorado facility.  He is originally from California, born and raised in the Mojave Desert area near Joshua Tree National Park.

About Us:

The Tracy Green Business Network is a collaboration between Tracy Earth Project and the Tracy Chamber of Commerce, with the aim of promoting environmental sustainability and creating a Green Business Directory for the city of Tracy. This venture aims to identify businesses in and around Tracy that have implemented or are pursuing sustainable best practices and give recognition for their efforts.
