Solarium by CreatingAS1 - SF Climate Week
We think creating a vibrant culture and thriving world involves all of us. How are we imagining, conveying, and building what's possible?
At this Solarium event, we will be going on a journey to feel a sense of belonging and oneness with the living world, be motivated by our deep love for each other and our more-than-human kin, and communicate in a way that taps into hearts and minds. We will unleash our imaginations and envision a bold, resilient, regenerative future where all of us thrive.
We’ll have presentations and activities to inspire and empower participants. Our special guests will include:
Roxanna "Roxi" Shohadaee (Design Science Studio and habRitual)
Toshi Anders Hoo (Institute for the Future)
Eva Frye (Climate Shifted podcast and Two Hands Brands)
Shreya Chaudhuri (UC Berkeley and Project Planet)
Avi Love (queer, creative, and authentic self coaching)
With a nature-inspired aerialist performance by Starya.
The intention for our Solarium gatherings is to be soul nourishing and fun. We want our guests to feel inspired, interconnected, and empowered. We endeavor to create a space where people feel safe, supported, and a sense of belonging. We are hoping wonderful people will make new friends and existing relationships are deepened.
This will take place at 200 Channels, the new SF venue we co-created. We imagined, built, and installed the biophilic interior design using eco-materials including rice straw MDF, Hempwood, plant-based resin, plus reclaimed wood and glass.
Appetizers and dinner will be served. We'll be offering vegetarian/vegan food. This will include the delicious veggie paella from The Pawn Shop Restaurant next door.
You may purchase a beverage from the wonderful 200 Channels staff. Non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks will be available.
While you are enjoying a drink and dinner, we will share a little about the story and meaning behind the performance venue interior decor. Following this introduction, we will have presentations by the following community leaders:

LOCATION:
We (Aaron Haldiman and Sara Corbett, together CreatingAS1) custom made the interior design of a new performance venue in San Francisco called 200 Channels, which is connected to Monarch Nightclub and Pawn Shop Restaurant.
The aesthetic story is about regeneration. One side depicts the relationship between forests and water, while the other depicts how fire and decay are also part of new beginnings. Throughout the space are aspects of different creatures appreciating the ecosystem. We used primarily sustainable resources and supported local businesses.
LOGISTICS:
Enter through The Emperor's Drawing Room of Monarch Club, which is on 6th St just south of Mission St. (Look for the Emperor's Drawing Room sign on the side of the building and right over the doorway, it says "Music and Cocktails, Where the Fabulous Play.")
Check in with security and our amazing greeter for the evening.
Price:
The ticket price for this event is $25 per person and includes dinner and snacks.
