About Event

Join People Who Thrive, a monthly gathering that makes it easy to make new friends and be part of a community of go-getters who are taking action to go after their goals. Learn more about the group here.

At each People Who Thrive gathering, a speaker talks for 10 minutes about a time in their life or their career when they asked for help, and receiving that help had a transformative impact. Then, everyone has one minute to address the group and share their elevator pitch, their “ask” (something they need help with), and an “offer” (a way they can be of service to others). When the floor is open for networking, it’s easy to walk right up to someone you can help, someone who can help you, someone whose vision is inspiring, or someone you might want to be friends with.

Hyper-independence is overrated; interdependence is how we make things happen.

This month’s speaker is Joni Goldbach. Joni Goldbach is a writer, serial entrepreneur, and fractional product leader who works with founders and teams from pre-launch and early-stage startups to well-established businesses through her businesses Heroic Aspirations and Design Sprint Consultants. She takes a pragmatic and customer-focused approach to facilitate the development of new digital products and experiences from ideation to launch. Joni has worked across corporate and startup environments, including American Express, Sweeten, and Savings.com. She also writes at the intersection of food and memory on her Substack, Letters from the Table.

Come ready with your elevator pitch, your "ask," and an "offer" to share with the group, and quickly connect with people you can help and people who want to help you. Enjoy a self-serve cocktail and mocktail bar while meeting other go-getters who know they can't do it alone.

After the event, you can join the private People Who Thrive slack channel, where everyone can re-state their elevator pitch, ask, and offer after the event, making it easy to follow-up on new relationships and opportunities.

**Are you thinking about attending People Who Thrive for the first time? Showing up to a new event in a new place can be intimidating, so bring a buddy or your "emotional support person" for free. After registering, email lizwinston2@gmail.com with the name and email of the person you'd like to bring, and they'll be added to the guest list, free of charge.**

If the event ticket cost prevents you from being able to register, email event organizer Liz Winston at lizwinston2@gmail.com; three tickets are reserved for anyone who does not have the ability to pay at this time.

People who thrive ask for things.

People who thrive support others whenever they can.

People who thrive have support networks.

People who thrive belong to communities.

About event organizer Liz Winston: Liz Winston is a Brooklyn-based personal chef by day and an organizer in the disability justice movement by night.
