About Event

Consumers of all generations and across the political spectrum are willing to make purchasing decisions based on climate and environmental considerations, but consumers don't feel they have enough information to make climate-friendly decisions and they want companies to help them.

Thank you to Northwind Climate for sponsoring!

Coffee and pastries will be available at this event.

A fireside chat featuring Lauryn Nwankpa, Allison Agsten and Northwind Climate, delving into strategies for companies and brands to understand how climate factors are influencing their customers.

Our discussion will focus on how these considerations not only increase revenue but also enhance brand strength by leveraging data-backed insights and communication strategies. Importantly, we’ll explore how consumers increasingly recognize the difference between true strategic company alignment between marketing & operations…and greenwashing.

This session aims to provide businesses with the perspectives needed to align their marketing efforts with sustainability goals, ultimately fostering a stronger connection with environmentally conscious consumers.

Northwind Climate is the first communications data company with an exclusive focus on how climate concerns impact consumer purchasing decisions. Their mission is to accelerate the adoption of climate-solutions by delivering insights on climate-related consumer purchasing decisions. They believe that companies' climate actions are an untapped corporate asset that - if communicated effectively - can provide a unique competitive advantage and make companies more profitable. Their proprietary data platform has continually updated research alongside data-backed communication insights that enable companies to better market their climate actions and products, increase revenue, and strengthen their brand.

In addition to her appointment at the Annenberg School, Agsten serves as the USC Wrigley Institute for Environment and Sustainability’s first curator.
