Join us for the second SF Bay Area Substack Writer Meetup!
While writing itself is something that we mostly do alone, being in community is a powerful—and really, very necessary part of any passionate creative pursuit.
This is an opportunity to connect in person, share what you're working on, and build an ongoing community of Substack writers in the San Francisco Bay area.
This second Substack Writer Meetup is hosted by Bowen Dwelle https://bowendwelle.substack.com. This event is not hosted or sponsored by Substack, but they support our efforts, and the event will be listed on their events page.
This time around we'll meet at Heartwood, a lovely cocktail bar in the Jackson Square/Barbary Coast neighborhood of San Francisco, just a short walk from the Montgomery and Embarcadero BART stations, as well as the Ferry Building. They offer a menu of small plates and drinks that should be ideal for our gathering.
Please plan to arrive on time, we will start the meetup promptly at 6pm! The bar is open until 10pm, so there will be plenty of time to hang out afterwards, if you wish.
Our plan for the event is something like:
Purpose — to support each other as writers
Agreements — own your own experience, give what you’d wish to get, keep other’s material confidential, we're not here to try to sell each other anything, etc…
Introductions — who you are, what you're working on, and what would you like to get out of this community?
A fun sort of get-to-know-each-other game
