Clinic Panels for HLS Staff
In an effort to highlight efforts of the clinics at HLS, HR is hosting Clinic Panels for staff. You're invited to come and hear from the Clinics first hand about what they do and the impact they are making at the Law School and beyond.
In this session we will be joined by:
Sama ElBannan from Harvard Defenders
Carol Flores from the Criminal Justice Institute
A short description about each of their clinics is below.
Lunch will be provided.
Harvard Defenders is one of the largest and oldest student-practice organizations at Harvard Law School. Each year approximately 85 Harvard Law students volunteer to provide pro-bono representation to low-income defendants in criminal show-cause hearings and assist callers with other legal issues through our extensive referral network.
The Criminal Justice Institute (CJI) offers a unique union of classroom instruction and hands-on experience for students who represent indigent adults and juvenile clients facing misdemeanor and felony charges in the Boston criminal courts. CJI also performs research in a variety of criminal justice areas.
