About Event

We all know that the economic system just isn’t fair! But did you know that the economy simply means “the way we organise the relationships and resources in our home”? Reorganising the economy is in our hands - come and learn how!

Join us if you’re keen to explore the movement of life’s resources, and have a go at designing economic strategies for reorganising wealth; think reparations, tax justice, community wealth building and collectively owned assets. We’ll be looking at the City of Oxford as a microcosm of the global economy. This session will at times touch on concepts of identity and lived experience, without essentialising any particular group or population - please be prepared to join in the discussion :)

Experienced facilitators and local organisers Melissa Latchman (community organising legend) & Guppi Bola (Decolonising Economics) will take you on a fun & interactive journey, joined by Kiki Mager from the Good Ancestor Movement who will share insights from their work challenging wealth accumulation and building more democratic systems for redistribution. This event prioritises the experiences and insights of Global majority community organisers, is family friendly and we encourage folks from within the city to join in.
