About Event

D-Prize believes bold ideas deserve bold support—and we’re teaming up to help you take the first step.

In this special session, you’ll get a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to successfully apply for D-Prize seed funding of up to $20,000. Ashu Martha Agbornyenty—award-winning midwife, maternal health advocate, and longtime Bloomer—will share the real lessons from her journey, including what helped her application stand out and launch her impact-driven venture.

You’ll leave with:

  • A clear understanding of how D-Prize empowers new organizations tackling poverty

  • Practical tips for crafting a strong application and test pilot

  • Inspiration from someone who turned opportunity into real-world change

If you’re ready to move your idea from vision to launch, this session will give you the insight—and encouragement—you need.

Featured story: For Mom and Baby Foundation
For Mom and Baby Foundation reduces maternal deaths in Cameroon by distributing misoprostol through last-mile health providers to prevent postpartum hemorrhage.

Since winning their first funding from D-Prize in 2023, they’ve reached over 2,000 pregnant women, and founder Ashu Martha Egbe was named an Echoing Green Fellow. “We are trying to solve problems in our community,” says co-founder Carlson Nkwain, “but the problem is funding. Winning D-Prize was a validation.”

About D-Prize

They award startup grants of up to $20,000 to help entrepreneurs test and launch new ventures, from nonprofits to social enterprises. Their goal is to close the access gap by scaling solutions that are known to work—creating real, measurable impact across low- and middle-income countries.
