About Event

Akanksha Sharma is an International Development and Public Policy SpecialistShe is noted amongst 'Most Impactful CSR Leaders Globally', 'Asia’s Top Sustainability Leaders', ‘Young CSR Leader’, 'Influential Sustainability Leaders' amongst many others. 

She has been working extensively on international development issues --poverty alleviation, health, education, environment, climate change, gender issues, post conflict development, Sustainability and more in diverse regions of the world. 

With her eclectic global experience of over a decade in Leadership & Strategic roles spread across 4 continents, ranging across the private sector, the social sector, the UN agency -she has been working for empowering communities through various programs and policy discourse both at the formulation and implementation levels. Sharma has successfully led several high value programs on SDGs, Impact Investments, CSR, Sustainability, Social Entrepreneurship, Tech for Good, Strategic Philanthropy-- governing the contribution of the private sector for Social Impact. She understands the interplay of politics, policy, profit, and people, Sharma has also been instrumental in bringing significantly policy amendments to the CSR law and Inclusive India Policy of the Government of India. She is currently the Global Head- Social Impact and Sustainability for a tech major.

Her debut book ‘For the Greater Common Good’ is being published by Bloomsbury worldwide. She is also a Columnist and writes for Forbes, Times of India, ET, Dawn (Pakistan), Huffington Post and many others. For her Peace Series on Indo-Pak relations, published in the Dawn, she was recognized as a 'Peace Ambassador' of an international organization- Postcards for Peace. And she is a 'Global Climate Force Ambassador' who represented India on an 'International Climate Change Expedition at Antarctica'. She is also World Economic Forum's Global Shaper and a speaker at TEDx, Raisina Dialogues and other notable forums. She has done her Master’s from the University of Sussex and specialisation in Social Impact from the Harvard University. Her work has been significantly covered in notable national and international media worldwide.
