Ever wondered how to swap Bitcoin UTXOs in a completely private, trustless way — without relying on a centralized service? That’s exactly what Coinswap lets you do — but instead of just hearing about it, this time, we’re actually doing it.
This month at BITDEVS, we’re keeping things interactive. You won’t just sit through slides — you’ll take part in a live Coinswap demo with other participants, walking through the process step by step.
Here is the preparation guide that will help you prepare your system for participating in the Coinswap Live Demo. Follow these steps carefully to ensure a smooth experience during the demonstration.
What's the agenda looking like?
✅ 5:30pm – 6:00pm: Doors Open
Arrive, grab a seat, and settle in! No rush — come hang out, chat with folks, and get ready for the session.
✅ 6:00pm – 6:30pm: Welcome to Bitshala & Bitspace
We’ll kick things off with a quick intro to what Bitshala and Bitspace are all about, what's our vision and what’s in store for the evening.
✅ 6:30pm – 7:30pm: Coinswap: Breaking It Down
Time to dive into Coinswap — what it is, why it matters, and how it works. Coinswap Devs will walk through the basics and break down some key parts of the code, so you get a solid understanding before we jump into the hands-on part.
✅ 7:30pm – 8:00pm: Snack & Brain Break
Take a breather. Grab some snacks, stretch a little, and get ready for the live demo session.
✅ 8:00pm – 9:00pm: Coinswap: Live Testnet Demo
Now, the fun part, a 1-hour live demonstration, where you’ll actively participate in a real Coinswap on Bitcoin’s testnet.
NOTE: To get the most out of the session, we recommend bringing a laptop with Bitcoin testnet4 synced (here is the preparation guide). If you don’t have one, no worries — each table will have a shared setup, so you can still follow along and take part.
✅ 9:00pm – 10:00pm: Networking and Chill
Stay back, meet interesting people, talk about Bitcoin, privacy, or whatever’s on your mind. No agenda, just good conversations.
