Advancing Floating Offshore Wind Energy in California: Technology, Innovation and Roadmap to 25 GW by 2045
Join us for an in-person event with Coffee and Pastries where we explore the future of offshore wind in California.
California is on a bold path toward a clean energy future, setting a target of 25 GW of offshore wind capacity by 2045, with procurement beginning in 2027. Given that much of California's coastline features water depths 500 and 1300 m (1,760–4,300 ft), floating wind technology will be essential to harness this vast renewable resource.
During the event, we will discuss how the political turmoil in the Federal level would affect the offshore wind industry in the short term including policy hurdles and supply chain challenges. We will also discuss how expert engineering services, operational experience, and bankable technologies can bring the reliability and scale needed to advance floating wind deployment in California, build resilient supply chain and unlock sustainable cost reduction.
Agenda:
• 2:00-2:10: Coffee + Networking
• 2:10-2:20: Opening Remarks
• 2:20-3:10 Sessions
- California and the US offshore wind market overview
- Floating Wind Technology 101
- Floating foundation and wind turbine design iteration
- Supply chain solutions for CA and the US markets
• 3:10-3:30: Conclusion and Networking
