Women's Grief Tending Ceremony
Honouring the Journey of Motherhood in All Its Forms
Dear Sister,
We warmly invite you to join us in a sacred circle of women, where we will hold space for the deep, unspoken grief that touches so many of us on our journey with fertility, motherhood, and loss.
This ceremony is especially for those who have experienced:
The ache of infertility and longing.
The heartbreak of miscarriage or stillbirth.
The complex emotions surrounding abortion.
The grief of childlessness, whether chosen or not.
Heartbreak due to bereavement
Transition into menopause
Relationship break up
Struggles related to motherhood
Past trauma
The pain of the world
Together, we will create a safe and nurturing space to honour our stories, share in our vulnerability, and find comfort in the company of those who truly understand.
Through gentle somatic rituals, shared reflections, and moments of silence and singing, we will tend to our sorrow, release the weight we carry, and welcome healing.
You are not alone. This is a space for you to feel held, supported, and seen. Your grief is valid. Your story matters.
We ask you to bring an open heart and, if you feel comfortable, a small item that symbolises your journey—a photo, a flower, or anything meaningful to you.
This ceremony is offered with deep compassion and respect.
We will be gathering in a beautiful houseboat on the River Thames. The close proximity to water will support the movement of our grief.
Please eat a good breakfast / brunch before you arrive and bring a light snack for the early afternoon break. There will be hot soup, salad and bread at the end of the day. Sugar is best avoided as it can interfere with the expression of grief.
We will send a short form to fill in once you have booked and paid for your place.
This half day retreat is offered on a sliding scale to make it as inclusive as possible.
Your choice of payment will remain completely private, and there is no judgment around what you are able to give.
Our current economic systems often encourage us to prioritise profit and scarcity, fostering a belief that only a few are entitled to access meaningful resources and opportunities.
By offering this workshop on a sliding scale, I hope to challenge these ideas in a small but intentional way. I trust you to honour the value of this experience in a way that aligns with your situation, and I am truly grateful for your willingness to engage in this reimagined approach to exchange.
Generating: For those of you with comfortable financial means to contribute more, we are deeply appreciative of your generosity which assists in making this accessible for those who may otherwise not be able to attend.
Sustaining: Your contribution helps to sustain our living costs. We are grateful if you are able to enroll at this rate.
Supported: We invite people with leaner financial means to enjoy these events at a reduced cost and we are delighted that you can join us.
