About Event

This high-level side-event fosters an inclusive dialogue on operationalizing the Tropical Forest Forever Facility (TFFF) with a strong rights-based lens.

Objectives:

  • Foster dialogue on the operationalisation of the TFFF, focusing on the roles of Indigenous Peoples and Local Communities (IPs and LCs).

  • Explore how the 20% minimum allocation for IPs and LCs can be safeguarded in practice.

  • Discuss how direct access mechanisms can be effectively prioritized.

  • Identify practical pathways to ensure transparent, equitable, and accountable disbursement of forest finance.

  • Showcase concrete examples of autonomous forest governance and climate action by IPs and LCs.

  • Contribute recommendations to the TFFF Secretariat and key stakeholders ahead of finalization.

This session targets TFFF Secretariat, TFC negotiators, donor governments, and civil society organizations seeking to shape a forest finance mechanism that delivers climate action with justice.
