Box From Babel invites you to Reading Rave (3)—a night of books, music, and good company. Imagine your second-grade "independent reading time," but with a live DJ and a mocktail bar. Join us to celebrate culture, curiosity, and community in a whole new way.
Who Should Come?
Anyone who loves books, music, and good vibes. Whether you're New Years resolution reader, an avid book lover, or just looking for a different kind of night out, this event is for you.
The Event
BYOB—Bring Your Own Book! Bring a favorite read to enjoy or swap during the session (seat cushions recommended). Join us at StartupBarn, 165 King Street West, on January 30th from 7-9 pm, for an evening of reading, live music, socializing, and an exhibition from the Box from Babel archive.
What to Expect:
Reading Session
DJ Set: Ambient techno to keep your brain waves flowing.
Exhibition: Chronicling the Highway Bookstore—an iconic destination for book lovers.
Weird Bookmark Competition: Show off your quirkiest bookmark—don’t overthink it!
Mystery Box Sales: Books from the legendary. Highway Bookstore, acquired by Aleph One Studios through the Spada collection. Unique, rare, and out-of-print books for discovery. Buy two boxes and get a limited-edition bookmark set!
Dress Code:
Informed uniform, librarian noir, book couture, Gutenberg glam, Faust complex dude. Dress to express your love of books, learning, and creativity.
Bring your curiosity, love of books, and a chill attitude. It’s all about reading, exploring, and connecting.
