Trans Day of Visibility Satsang (Yoga + Meditation)
A 60-minute gathering to celebrate trans joy, authenticity, and visibility through seated yoga + meditation practices 🏳️⚧️🩵🩷
This Trans Day of Visibility Satsang is a sacred space to come together to share in our joy, authenticity and find connectedness. Join us to explore your connection to your body, your innermost authentic self, and the joy that can be found in expressing yourself within community.
What is a "Satsang"?
In Sanskrit, “Sat” means Truth + “Sangha” means Community.
So simply put, a satsang is a community gathering for a (typically seated) yoga practice. The format of satsang can vary by teacher — my satsangs are inspired by my meditation teacher, Tony Lupinacci, and intricately blend elements of pranayama, mantra, kriya and a spirit of bhakti (devotion), with the addition of somatic practices + movement meditations.
You do not need prior experience with yoga to attend! Expect practices designed to activate and deepen your connection to your physical body, emotional landscape, community and the universe/god/spirit/higher power (to whatever extent those words resonate with you).
Who is this gathering for?
Anyone who identifies as trans, nonbinary, agender, gender-nonconforming, or is questioning their relationship to the gender binary or their assigned gender at birth. This is considered a closed gathering, meaning if you the identities listed here do not resonate with you, this particular event is not for you :) Please check out my events page for more upcoming events!
Why is this only open to trans folx?
Because sometimes it’s nice to have a space designed FOR you, especially when your day-to-day life operates in a world that emphatically is NOT. And because for me personally, there is a sense of safety and relief in being seen for my true self without having to mask or over-explain myself when I am in spaces where I know we share this aspect of our identity. I find that this supports my nervous system especially in spaces where this is part of the purpose of the practice. If this workshop is not for you, I encourage you to share this event link with a trans friend who might like to come, and I encourage you to send me a message letting me know what kinds of workshops you would like to see from me that would make you feel seen + included!
Ticket Pricing: $5-25 sliding scale.
Suggested investment if it doesn’t impact your housing/food/health budget: $15. Students, unemployed/under-employed folx, & full-time artists please make use of the $5 option!!
(Your presence means more than your $$ — If you feel the desire to come, I want you there!) “So why isn’t this class free?” I pour so much love, thoughtful intention, and energy into every class and space I hold. I am offering this at a sliding-scale ticketed price so that I can support myself and dedicate MORE of my time to creating practices designed specifically for my queer + neurodivergent communities. 🫶🏻🌈)
