About Event

The Lead Detect Prize is hosting an in-person Demo Day at the Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University. During the event, the five Phase 2 teams will showcase their lead detection solutions and the winners of the $850,000 Phase 2 prize pool will be announced. Confirmed speakers at Demo Day include:

  • Lynn Goldman, Dean, Michael and Lori Milken Institute School of Public Health and Professor of Environmental and Occupational Health at George Washington University.

  • Pamela Protzel Berman, Principal Deputy Director (Acting), National Center for Environmental Health and Agency for Toxic Substances and Disease Registry. 

  • Karla Johnson, Administrator at Marion County Public Health Department and former Lead Exposure and Prevention Advisory Committee member.

  • Nicole Jones, Assistant Professor, Michigan State University, College of Human Medicine, Division of Public Health, Department of Pediatrics and Human Development, MSU-Hurley Pediatric Public Health Initiative.
